As a Fly Fishing Women of MN member, you receive many benefits in addition to being part of an amazing community. Here is some additional info about our club events hosted annually:
Education Workshops, both in person or online may include:
- How to set up a fly rod
- Terminal Tackle – getting started or leveling up – knots, leaders, tippet, snaps, clips, flies, etc.
- Casting lessons, casting practice and casting competitions
- On the water – reading the water, figuring out where to fish
- Entomology and “matching the hatch”
- Keeping track of the flies you are accumulating – how to organize fly boxes
- Gear and accessories – what to carry and how to carry it all
Member Meet Ups:
- Member meet ups are a great chance to meet and get to know other members
- Our social events may be held as stand-alone events or run in conjunction with an education workshop
- All of our events, workshops, excursions, and trips include massive amounts of friendships and good times!
Fly Fishing Excursions:
- Weekend trout fishing trips to the rivers and streams in the Minnesota driftless region or eastern Wisconsin
- Evening “Fishing Around Town” events in the Twin Cities urban areas for species such as bass, panfish, carp, pike, or musky!
